The Last Stronghold in Lyon
Experiencing the Middle Ages under tension
The people of Lyon loved it!
They traveled through millions of years… without leaving Lyon.
Amazing!! We loved it!! We had a fantastic time in the lost world. We were completely immersed. The only thing that could be improved is the image quality, which is reminiscent of an old cartoon. It's a shame... beautiful, film-like visuals would be much more impressive.
A wonderful experience. Our Earth 🌎 seen from the sky and discovering the ISS from the inside... it's fantastic!
My experience was incredible, I recommend you take the DISAPPEARED WORLD
I visited the Great Pyramid of Giza last year, which was really interesting. This year I decided to go to the International Space Station. It's very good but too short; you don't really get to explore, you just watch short videos.
This is my third time going, and the shows are always fantastic and immersive – truly top-notch! I highly recommend it.
A great immersion in the ISS, beautiful images and videos, it felt so real! A great time with my colleagues! I was expecting more teamwork, but the experience was much more solitary.
Fantastic experience, I highly recommend it. You'll have an incredible, immersive time.
The content is very exciting and truly beautiful, it's a shame the time is so short (35 minutes) and especially that the image quality, with glasses in the visor with progressive lenses like mine, isn't great: a bit blurry, you have to constantly move the visor.
An incredible experience. You discover life aboard the ISS as if you were there. Seeing the Earth from the vastness of space is magnificent.
Fantastische ervaring. Soms heb je enkel punt meer, zeker als je buiten de ISS en de ruimte loopt. In an interesting ISS case where there are some astronauts you can find, and in fact you can find out about this test. Aanbevelingswaardig.
Very good. Great experience. The warning for pacemaker wearers should be more explicit, especially before buying tickets.
Amazing experience with friends. Climbing the pyramid was a little daunting, and luckily we had asked them to minimize the feeling of vertigo. A magical moment that makes you want to try something else 🙏 Thank you to the very friendly young man at reception
A family of four spent a Saturday afternoon together, and it was simply an excellent time to share discovering the ISS. The staff were fantastic, funny, and professional. We will definitely be back to explore other exhibits! Thank you to the team!

I highly recommend it!
Our first immersive experience with Kheops was a success! We really felt like we were inside the pyramid, even at the top. The explanations were clear and interesting, and the images were beautiful. Time flew by!
EXPERIENCE AN ADVENTURE IN THE HEART OF BESIEGED CARCASSONNE
What awaits you!
Explore the city freely in 1304
Climb onto the ramparts
Observe the city's defenses
Discover the daily lives of the inhabitants
Experience an immersive virtual reality experience
From a narrative point of view, the balance between historical facts and fiction has been carefully crafted in order to best recreate the tensions of the winter of 1304, marked by the arrival of Philip the Fair. From spectator, you become an actor in a key chapter of History.
I enjoyed imagining with the artistic teams and 3D designers of Excurio this living fresco which depicts with unprecedented richness of detail the daily life of the medieval city at the height of its fortifications.
Amancio Requena, Deputy Administrator of the Castle and Ramparts of the City of Carcassonne, Centre des monuments nationaux
BECOME AN ACTOR IN A LIVING FRESCO FROM THE 14TH CENTURY
Designed by Excurio and the Centre des monuments nationaux, this immersive expedition combines history, intrigue, and emotion. The Middle Ages has never felt so close, so real.
You are not mere spectators. Your presence places you at the heart of the city: among civilians, soldiers, and authorities. You feel the anticipation, the uncertainty, and the question that hangs over everything: what will happen if the walls fall?
Based on the most recent archaeological discoveries.

Your questions about our experiences
How long does the Les Derniers Remparts experience in Lyon last?
The virtual reality immersion lasts approximately 45 minutes. Including the welcome, briefing, equipment fitting, and debriefing, allow approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in total to fully enjoy your dive into the city of Carcassonne in 1304.
Does the Last Walls experience contain violent or frightening scenes?
No. Although the story takes place during a medieval siege, the experience contains no graphic combat scenes or violent content. You explore the daily life of the city on the eve of the battle: preparations on the ramparts, the activity of the market, interactions between inhabitants, and the rising tensions. The atmosphere is immersive and engaging, yet remains accessible to everyone, including children as young as 8 accompanied by an adult.
Is Les Derniers Remparts suitable for children and school trips?
Yes. The experience is directly integrated into the middle and high school history curriculum: Capetian France, medieval society, the fortifications of Carcassonne, and the political context of the 14th century. Co-production with the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (National Monuments Center) guarantees the accuracy of the historical content. The self-guided exploration format—wandering through the narrow streets, observing the locals, climbing the ramparts—makes learning engaging and tangible. Eclipso Lyon welcomes school groups year-round and offers flexible scheduling. Contact us to organize your visit.
Who designed the Last Walls experience?
The project is a co-production between Excurio and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN), which manages the Château and ramparts of the Cité de Carcassonne. Editorial and scientific direction was provided by Amancio Requena, deputy administrator of the monument, and Mathilde Bessieux (CMN), with contributions from Nicolas Faucherre, professor at Aix-Marseille University, and Jean Blanc, from the Aude Departmental Archives. Each scene—from the narrow streets to the ramparts—is based on an architectural and historical reconstruction validated by these experts.
Can the experience cause dizziness?
Some people may experience mild sensations, particularly when traversing the high sections of the ramparts, but this is rare. Please note: The Last Ramparts does not have a moderate (SOFT) mode, unlike The Horizon of Cheops and Lost Worlds. However, our team is present throughout the experience to assist you, and you can stop playing at any time if you feel unwell, without disturbing other participants.
Is it possible to watch The Last Walls followed by another experience on the same day?
Yes, it's absolutely possible. Our Lyon Confluence center offers five experiences covering very different eras and worlds: Ancient Egypt with The Horizon of Cheops and The Builders' Treasure, Prehistory with Lost Worlds, Art with An Evening with the Impressionists, and the Middle Ages with The Last Ramparts. You can book two consecutive time slots online or check availability directly at reception on the day of your visit.
What are the least busy times to visit Eclipso Lyon?
For a more peaceful experience, opt for weekday slots between 16pm and 18pm, or weekends from 10am to 11am and from 18pm to 20pm. These times generally allow you to avoid peak periods and enjoy a more tranquil immersion.
