How long does the Builders' Treasure experience in Lyon last?
The virtual reality immersion lasts approximately 45 minutes. Including the welcome, briefing, equipment fitting, and debriefing, allow approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in total to fully enjoy your expedition to the heart of the Great Pyramid of Giza construction site.
What is the difference between The Treasure of the Builders and The Horizon of Khufu?
Both experiences transport you to ancient Egypt, but with very different approaches. The Horizon of Khufu invites you to explore the interior of the pyramid and its secret passages in a contemplative and majestic immersion. The Builders' Treasure plunges you into an interactive investigation of the construction site: guided by Mona, a young Egyptologist, you travel back in time to discover how the builders made this masterpiece possible. The two experiences are complementary and can be enjoyed on the same day.
Is The Builders' Treasure suitable for children?
Yes, the experience is suitable for ages 8 and up. Its interactive investigation format, guided by the character Mona, is particularly engaging for children and teenagers. Each stage of the journey combines exploration, observation, and discovery, making it both a fun and educational outing. The content is based on scientific research validated by Egyptologists from Harvard University, and contains no violent or frightening scenes.
What scientific research is the experiment based on?
The Builders' Treasure was designed in collaboration with Peter Der Manuelian, an Egyptologist at Harvard University, and Barbara Bell, director of the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East. The experience draws on the latest archaeological discoveries: ancient construction logs, reconstructions of Nile ports, building techniques, and newly discovered spaces inside the pyramid. Each scene is based on research-validated data.
Can the experience cause dizziness?
Some people may experience mild dizziness depending on their sensitivity, but this is rare. Please note: unlike The Horizon of Cheops and Lost Worlds, The Treasure of the Builders does not have a moderate (SOFT) mode. However, our team is present throughout the experience to assist you, and you can stop playing at any time if you feel unwell, without disturbing other participants.
Can you do The Builders' Treasure followed by another experience on the same day?
Yes, it's absolutely possible. Many visitors choose to combine The Builders' Treasure with The Horizon of Khufu for a complete immersion in ancient Egypt. Our Lyon Confluence center offers a total of five experiences: you can book two consecutive slots online or check availability directly at reception on the day of your visit.
What are the least busy times to visit Eclipso Lyon?
For a more peaceful experience, opt for weekday slots between 16pm and 18pm, or weekends from 10am to 11am and from 18pm to 20pm. These times generally allow you to avoid peak periods and enjoy a more tranquil immersion.
